On November 5, 2005, Christ the King Parish dedicated our new Newman Center addition. The purpose of this addition is to provide needed space for Catholic Campus Ministry, Youth and Adult Religious Education as well as furnish room for various existing and proposed parish programs and activities for all ages. The finished center has already been a much used and enjoyed facility. Please stop by and visit this addition to our parish home.

The Newman Center consists of 5 classrooms on the upper floor along with a unisex bathroom. The lower center has a dedicated Campus Ministry Lounge, shower facilities and a social area that connects to the existing social hall of the church. All levels of the building can be accessed by stairways as well as a handicap accessible elevator. There are numerous storage areas provided on each floor as well.

The building has an efficient heating and cooling system that offers individually controlled thermostats for each room including phone and computer hookups. The total addition is approximately 6300 square feet.

In conjunction with the Newman Center addition, Christ the King also remodeled the lower center of the existing building. This included removing a wall into an outside courtyard and enclosing the area with a skylight. This created a beautiful space for social and spiritual gatherings. Tile was installed throughout this area and a new kitchen enclosure was built.

The total cost of this project is approximately 1.25 million dollars. Through the efforts and generosity of many parishioners and the hiring of an individual to lead the fund raising, we have raised approximately 2/3 of the money needed to pay for this wonderful facility. However, this means we still have over $400,000 to raise. Our goal is to raise the remaining funds over the next two years.
